About us
The Society of Friends of Ephesos has been one of the leading sponsors of Austrian research activity abroad since 1972. It was the Society of Friends of Ephesos that made internationally renowned projects like the re-erection of the Library of Celsus and the roofing over of the Terrace Houses in Ephesos possible.
The Friends of Ephesos are currently supporting the conservation of the Celsus Library. The aim is to fundamentally restore this icon of the Ephesos excavation, which was rebuilt 50 years ago.
You will find all kinds of information on our website – not only about our work as a society but also about the research being carried out in Ephesos by the Austrian Archaeological Institute (OeAI) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
We would be delighted if we awaken your interest in archaeology and you would like to support our activities by becoming a member, making a donation or providing sponsorship.
